Frequently Asked Questions
What is SublimeMail?
SublimeMail is an email filtering service that tags or deletes unsolicited bulk email (UBE) or unsolicited commercial email (UCE), a.k.a. spam, and viruses without interupting the delivery of legitimate email.
How does SublimeMail work?
SublimeMail runs a series of sophisticated algorithms on each email message, tags or deletes (see delivery options) spam and viruses, then delivers messages to the clients mail server. .
Who can use SublimeMail?
Anyone. SublimeMail is designed for anyone looking for an effective email filtering service. You simply need control of your MX record, which will point to our servers.
What makes SublimeMail better than other email filtering options?
Traditional solutions rely on a limited number of subjective checks and comparisons. SublimeMail uses a number of deterministic filters which know without a doubt is an email is spam or not. There is no guess work or gray area. With SublimeMail its a black and white issue.
Does SublimeMail slow down my email service?
No. Our technology is extremely effecient and lean. Unlike many other filtering solutions SublimeMail does not delay the delivery of your email.
Will SublimeMail ever lose any of my email?
No. You can choose to have SublimeMail tags spam and viruses then send it on to your server. Or, if youre like 99% of our customers you can simply ask us to delete the spam and viruses at our servers saving you bandwidth and processor load.
Will SublimeMail filter Viruses?
Yes. Our anti-virus filter checks against a database of over 20 thousand known viruses. Additionally, since viruses are typically transmitted via bulk email, SublimeMail catches a large number of emails containing viruses that way as well.
How do you turn SublimeMail on?
Simply login to your SublimeMail account and enter your domain name and mailserver name. Then point your MX records to the SublimeMail Route Servers.
Can I turn SublimeMail off?
Yes. You can disable SublimeMail simply by pointing your MX records to your own mail servers.
What if SublimeMail tags an email that is not bulk?
If you notice an email that is tagged as bulk but you believe it is not, send a copy of the message to support@SublimeMail.com. If it proves to be a non-bulk email, then the filter will be adjusted accordingly. SublimeMail has produced a small number of false positives since inception. This being the case, it is highly unlikely that your legitimate email will be tagged as spam by our filter.
What about bulk email that doesnt get caught by SublimeMail?
There will be few emails that make it past SublimeMail filters. Currently SublimeMail is catching over 95% of all bulk emails and spam. If you receive a bulk email message, you can simply bounce, redirect, or forward it as an attachment to stopspam@SublimeMail.com.
